Corinthians, managed by António Oliveira, secures a victory in the South American Cup – Internacional

The team led by the Portuguese coach António Oliveira triumphed in their match against the Paraguayan team Nacional with a 2-0 score on Tuesday and re-entered the qualifying zone of the South American Cup.

In a showdown of the fourth round in Group F that took place in Assunção, the São Paulo team secured the win with goals from Yuri Alberto in the 75th minute and Matheus França in the 90+6th minute, after the expulsion of Caballero Feytas from the home team.

“It’s not always possible to play excellently. What matters the most is to win. We had a great game against Fortaleza but didn’t win. Today [Tuesday] we didn’t perform as well but we won, and achieved our goal,” mentioned the Portuguese coach at the end.

This victory places the Brazilians in the second position, securing a play-off spot for the round of 16, with seven points, one behind the leading Racing Montevideo, and one ahead of Argentinos Juniors. Meanwhile, Nacional remains at the bottom with only one point.
